Center for Health and Rehabilitation: Activities of Daily Living (ADL) Apartment

Our ADL therapy and training apartment includes a bedroom, kitchen, dining area, living room and bathroom. This training apartment allows our rehab clients to experience the challenges of daily living activities in a realistic environment prior to returning home. Imagine learning how to cook a meal for your family after a stroke; or taking a shower without assistance. These are the benefits of a hands-on ADL apartment. Therapists work with our rehab clients to safely perform daily activities such as dressing, cooking, cleaning, bed making, bathing and grooming. The surroundings re introduce clients to everyday life, aid in their safety and problem solving and encourage independence.

So Much More Than Exercise

Most people think of therapy as countless repetitions of exercise; however, our focus is on your ability to function safely when you return to your prior living environment.

Achieve Your Goals

When you are welcomed into our sub-acute program, our first goal is to get to know you. We like to know where you came from, who is involved in your plan of care and what is important to you prior to returning home. We want you involvement in the development of your rehab plan.
